Time To Get Serious

Alright, so I gave MRT Services an email right after the whole email/bankruptcy/we-won't-ever-pay-you thing came on the scene giving them 2 weeks to pay me or I would take legal action.

Yeah, I haven't seen a check in the mail.

THEREFOR, it was time to show them that I mean business. I went into the courthouse today to file my small claims suit against them AND the president of the company. Oh, and she won't only get served by mail, she will get served by SHERIFF, too.

There's no hiding from me.

Funny thing is, with Nebraska small claims, she needs to appear in court to defend herself or it's an automatic judgement. So really, she can save herself the trip and just send me my money. Whatever. I'm not dropping it, so either way...

This is my first time "sueing" anyone. And oddly, instead of guilt or regret, I feel good. I feel like I have taken that first step to say, hey, I mean business. I'm not going to drop this, and I'm not going to be screwed out of the money that I EARNED. Damn right, I'm taking it to court!

So now it's just a matter of waiting. Waiting for her to be served. Waiting to see if she decides to resolve this outside of court. Waiting for the court date. Waiting to see if she really does show up. Waiting to see the judge laugh in her face for being stupid enough not to pay me. Yeah, that'll be funny.

You know what else would be funny?

Some laid off humor:
